I sent off 17 questions to Rich but he only sent me back answers for 5 of them. That did not worry me too much so I decided to put them up here anyway. At least he wished me luck for my website. I got them back through e-mail on the 25th of September 2000.
What was it like to host Race Around the World?
A blast, seeing as we faked most of those stories- it was like the moon landing. Every piece was done in a studio with blue screen and a couple of pot plants, with some ABC staffers hanging around in loincloths. It saved the ABC no end of money.
What is your favourite thing to do?
To go out into the woods, ritually slaughter a goat with a ruby encrusted scimitar and read its entrails in order to divine the future.
Who would you like to be most like and why?
Ray Martin's hair- in a world of ceaseless change it's the one thing that stays the same. It's a by-word for integrity, a rock of stability that endures as the fickle waters of fashion crash around it.
What are your opinions of the Internet?
It's like TV, only slower.
What is your favourite moment on DAAS Kapital?
When the bomb goes off underwater and we all run around the set naked for a split second.
