Nicole Deena is not yet a well known comedian but she is a friend of mine and she's from Canberra. This interview was received on the 15th of March 2000.
Why did you decide to get into comedy?
I decided to get into comedy because ive always enjoyed making people laugh which is something ive been doing since i was young.
How long have you been a passionate comedian?
Ive been writing material for about 2 years and have been looking for venues in the past 12 months.
Who have influenced you?
Other comedians such as Peter Berner. It was his brief advice that made me decide to go for it. But generally my friends who always told me i should.
What was the Raw comedy experience like for you?
I really enjoyed it. It was a real eye opener into what works and what feels right.
I'm sure living in Canberra, you'd be able to come up with a lot of material...is this the case?
In my case, living in canberra has not had a big effect on my material. What i write i could probably think of any where.
What do your friends and family think about you being a comedian?
My friends think its great. My mother was more nervous about my first performance than i was. So far everyone I've talked to thinks I've got alot of guts to get up in front of people and say what i say.
How far do you want to get?
Id love to get a name for myself over Australia. I suppose most people who try to make it in to comedy want to make it big, but on a realistic level I'd be happy with becoming known to a small population which generally is more than alot can say they've accomplished.
And How far do you think you'll get?
I cant say. Only time will tell.
Do you have any fans yet?
No-one that comes up and asks for an autograph... but a small handful maybe

Have you ever thought about washing your hair with mouldy cheese?
I cant say i have... but if they ever tell me that penicilin is good for your hair then who knows.
Would you if someone dared you to?
As long as i had some decent shampoo to use afterwards and offered me something desirable, sure.
How would you contain yourself if you met a one-eyed, one-horned, flying-purple-people-eater?
I wouldn't be phased as im not a purple person.
How often do you see people picking their noses?
More often than I'd like to.
